What do I do if I get into an accident?

Postmates requires that all on-demand independent contractors (i.e., Postmates couriers) maintain an up-to-date, personal automobile liability policy on all vehicles you operate while driving for Postmates with insurance limits equal to or greater than the minimum requirements for the state where you drive. Property damage sustained to your property in an accident are your responsibility and should be addressed by your personal insurance carrier. Postmates does provide excess coverage for third-party property damage and/or third-party bodily injury if your personal policy does not provide coverage or if your policy does not adequately cover damages. If you are involved in an accident while you are on an active delivery (i.e., after you have selected ACCEPT on the platform through and until the customer receives their order as logged by the Postmates platform), please complete the Postmates Incident and Accident Report and email us at protection@postmates.com with all relevant details.
